Inspired by memories of long journeys on the open road, Road Trips is an evocative work for concert band by composer Che Buford. Capturing feelings of movement, anticipation, nostalgia, and discovery, the piece invites performers to experience the excitement of travel through vibrant musical textures and expansive soundscapes. Influenced in part by the music of Aaron Copland, Road Trips evokes a sense of vast landscapes and endless possibilities.
The accompanying curriculum guide by Alexis Peart provides ready-to-use lessons and activities that help students explore the musical elements, storytelling techniques, and expressive ideas featured in the work.
