Written for concert band, the piece blends elements of Gospel, Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Mariachi, and Banda to reflect the musical influences that shaped the composer's artistic voice. Energetic, joyful, and community-centered, Por La Cultura honors family, heritage, and the power of music to bring people together.
Meaning "For the Culture," the title reflects a phrase often used to express pride, solidarity, and support for one's community. Through its fusion of musical styles, the work celebrates the richness of cultural exchange while inviting students to explore diverse musical traditions through performance.
