Written for students at Boston's New Mission School, Peace, Peace, My Soul is a reflective work for SAT chorus and piano that explores the search for inner calm amid life's challenges. Inspired by themes of tranquility, perseverance, and self-reflection, composer Maria Thompson Corley invites singers to "climb above the storm," using music as a pathway toward stillness, resilience, and hope.
The accompanying curriculum guide by Alexis Peart provides ready-to-use lessons and activities that support musical learning while encouraging students to engage with the piece's themes of mindfulness, focus, and emotional well-being.
