MORGAN BROWN

Having been introduced to music with piano lessons from her grandmother at an early age, Morgan was always drawn to music. She started her musical education in the 4th grade and continued into highschool where she attended Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC for two years before transferring to Interlochen Arts Academy. Morgan began taking private lessons with Dr. Chelsey Green in the 5th grade and has been her mentee ever since. Throughout her middle school years, she has placed superior in County and State Solo/Ensemble Competitions and even received an invitation with her school’s string orchestra to perform at The White House during the 2014 Christmas Tours.

As a student at Duke Ellington School of the Arts, she has performed at The National Gallery of Art and The Kennedy Center Millenium Stage on multiple occasions. Additionally, she has participated in several competitions including placing 3rd in the Washington Performing Arts Feder Competition and 1st in the DC High School Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Talent Hunt Competition. During her time at Interlochen, Morgan had the opportunity to perform on National Public Radio’s (NPR) From The Top, where the orchestra collaborated and performed with pianist Michelle Cann and conductor Damon Gupton.

While attending the Boston Conservatory, she has been introduced to a whole new world of performance and collaboration. Some of these projects include numerous professional recording sessions, The Viola Project, Berklee Performance Center “The Show” by Rob Lewis, and most recently the Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra. Morgan Brown is currently a junior at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee studying Viola Performance and serves as the music representative for the Black Student Alliance. In addition to music, Morgan enjoys other artistic pursuits such as photography.
