RECENT COLLABORATIONS:

CELEBRITY SERIES OF BOSTON

As a roster Neighborhood Artist Ensemble, we have created 7 new works for string quartet and student strings inspired by African American spirituals, Caribbean folk songs, abolitionists, and themes of resilience, performing them in side by side performances with youth. Our partnership has led to appearances throughout Greater Boston at numerous community centers, schools, churches, and libraries in Mattapan, Hyde Park, Roslindale, Dorchester, Roxbury and Chinatown.

ISABELLA STEWART GARDNER

We have performed throughout the Gardner Museum as part of Indigenous People’s Day and Highland Street Park’s Free Fun Friday celebrations, performing free “edu-tainment” recitals. Most recently, Castle of our Skins performed in the Calderwood Hall on a rainy Sunday to a sold out audience with cellist Seth Parker Woods, collaborated on a four part documentary series in honor of spirituals called “Witness,” and will appear in April 2022 with Grammy-nominated flutist Nathalie Joachim for a full length performance exploring the concept of homeland.

HIBERNIAN HALL

Castle of our Skins is no stranger to the Roxbury community thanks to its partnership with Hibernian Hall. For over four seasons, Castle of our Skins has presented concert programs inspired by African Art (Tyaphaka), Black Feminism (Ain’t I A Woman), Visual art (MassQ Ball), Black masculinity (I Am A Man), and self love (Black Love).
