Breana BaumanA particular voice that steps away from the crowd,” (Berkshire Review), Breana Bauman was hailed by the New York Times for her "excellent work throughout" as concertmaster at Tanglewood. She is known for her, “individuality... not the usual 'representative of the orchestra,'” and regularly leads orchestras in Boston and on international tours. An accomplished orchestral musician, Ms. Bauman was a fellow at Spoleto Festival USA, Tanglewood Music Center, National Repertory Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. In demand across the country, Ms. Bauman is a frequent guest with the New World Symphony, in Miami, Florida and was the Assistant Concertmaster of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra.

Identifying most strongly as a chamber musician, Ms. Bauman is a co-founder of The Battery String Quartet. Featured at the Deer Valley Music Festival in Utah, the Battery premiered a piece commissioned for them under the guidance of the Muir Quartet and renowned American composer, Joan Tower. The quartet was the happy product of years of Ms. Bauman hosting chamber music soirées in Chicago in an effort to foster creative collaboration and community.
Ms. Bauman recently completed a Performance Diploma at Boston University with Bayla Keyes and Boston Symphony Concertmaster, Malcolm Lowe. She previously studied with Roger Chase, Greg Fulkerson, Kyung Sun Lee, and Principal Second Violinist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Stephen Rose. She earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees at Oberlin Conservatory and Cleveland Institute of Music.
